Mark Roark, OD, FAAO, has extensive experience in the management of ocular conditions, including age-related macular degeneration and dry eye disease, and frequently lectures on the importance of macular nutrition in reducing the risk of ocular disease and enhancing visual performance. He recently co-authored a peer-reviewed article published in Molecular Nutrition and Food Research on eye and brain nutrition.
Professor John Nolan is a Fulbright Scholar and the Founder and Director of the Nutrition Research Centre Ireland. His research group, which studies the role of nutrition in vision and blindness prevention, has published 100 peer-reviewed scientific papers. Professor Nolan also serves as the Chair of the International Brain and Ocular Nutrition Conference (BON Conference) held at Downing College, Cambridge University.
Dr. Jim Stringham is one of the world’s leading experts on the effects of nutrition on visual health and performance. He’s authored over 50 peer-reviewed articles and technical reports and delivered over 300 lectures on how the three macular carotenoids – Lutein, Zeaxanthin and Meso-Zeaxanthin – benefit everyone from those with age-related macular degeneration to high-level military personnel and athletes. He currently serves as Chief Scientific Officer for MacuHealth.
Harvey P. Hanlen, OD, FAAO, has been in private optometric practice for over 40 years. He received his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 1974 and served as the 78th President of the American Optometric Association until June 2000. He is currently the Director of Professional Relations for MacuHealth.
Dr. Ryan Powell is a private practice optometrist and the owner of 11 Vision Source Eyecare locations in Missouri, each with a focus on maximizing vision and reducing the risk factors that lead to vision loss. He’s also a speaker and educator for MacuLogix, Essilor, Transitions, Optos and other eye care companies.
